Pinterest username checker
Check a Pinterest username, with the whole set in the same search.
Checked alongside your domain and every other platform.
The rules
- 3 to 30 characters.
- Letters, numbers and underscores. No full stops, no hyphens.
- The username is the address: pinterest.com/yourname.
How we check it
We request the public profile at pinterest.com/yourname. Pinterest serves these pages to anonymous visitors, so a real 404 is a genuinely free name and a page that loads is a name in use.
Pinterest sometimes answers with a bot check or bounces the request to a sign-up page. Neither tells us anything about the name, so those come back as Unknown with a link rather than as an answer.
Underscores are the only separator
No dots and no hyphens means a two-word name runs together or takes an underscore. Since most other platforms handle separators differently, the run-together version is the one worth testing first.
Worth more than its follower count suggests
A Pinterest profile is a public page on a domain search engines trust, and it stays visible for years. For anything visual — product, food, interiors, design — it is often the first non-owned result for a brand name.
Common questions
Is a Pinterest business account username different?
No. Business and personal accounts draw from the same pool of usernames, so converting an account later keeps the name you already hold. Claim it on whichever account type you have and convert when you need to.
Can I change a Pinterest username?
Yes, from the account settings, and there is no long cooldown. The old one returns to the pool immediately, and any links pointing at it stop working.
Why did Pinterest come back Unknown?
Either it served a bot check instead of the page, or it redirected the request to a sign-up screen. In both cases the response is about us, not about your name, so we say so and hand you the link.
