FAQ
Questions
- Is BRANDZLI free?
Yes. Every check on the site is free and there's no account to make. The site is paid for by ads and by registrar links — if you register a domain through one of them we may earn a commission.
- What platforms does BRANDZLI check?
Domains across .com, .co, .net, .io, .ai, .app, .dev and .org, plus Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Threads, Reddit, GitHub, Twitch, Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord and Bluesky.
Not all of them can be checked to the same standard. Where a platform doesn't publish a way to ask, we say Unknown and give you the link.
- Does BRANDZLI reserve usernames?
No. We check and report. Taking a name still happens on the platform itself, and a name that's free when you check can be gone an hour later.
- Does BRANDZLI guarantee a username is available?
No, and nobody honestly can. Platforms hold names back for trademark reasons, for former accounts, and sometimes for no published reason at all. Available means nothing is currently using it as far as the platform will tell us.
- Can BRANDZLI register domains?
No. When a domain is free we link you to a registrar. Some of those links are affiliate links, which is disclosed on the page and never changes what we report.
- Why does a result say Unknown?
Because we couldn't get a trustworthy answer. Some platforms block automated lookups, some rate-limit us, and some — Discord, for one — have no public way to look a username up at all.
We'd rather say Unknown than guess. Every unknown row gives you the link to settle it yourself in a second.
- Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, and results aren't tied to anyone.
- Does BRANDZLI check trademarks?
No. BRANDZLI checks technical username and domain availability only. It does not provide trademark clearance or legal advice.
A handle being free tells you nothing about whether you're allowed to trade under that name. For that, talk to a trademark attorney.
